Conservations
Conservation builds are often demanding and challenging projects requiring patience, attention to detail and occasionally the use of some unusual materials and techniques.
We go to great lengths to ensure that relevant regulations and guidelines are closely adhered to and carry out careful assessments and surveys of each project before undertaking the work.
A good network of suppliers means that we can typically source sometimes unusual materials essential for conservation work; specific types of mortar, bricks and tiles are just a few of the things necessary to retain a building’s heritage value.
Techniques and standards of workmanship also have to be tailored to the work already in place, and every effort is made to match whilst maintaining modern build standards and regulations with full attention also to health and safety. Over time we have become familiar with the requirements and working practices and now have some expertise in ragstone work, peg tile and old barn conversions.
We consider our service to be highly sympathetic to the principles behind conservation, and enjoy the challenges presented; contact us at any time to discuss your project with one of our team and arrange an initial survey and estimate.
